100 Thousand Poets for Change - Seeking Sponsorship

100 Thousand Poets for Change - A global event! Publisher Michael Rothenberg had a dream; to get people moving with poetry. Movement so powerful as to rock the globe. This is that event! With 100s of countries representing poetry for change, I am so proud and honored to be an organizer and participant of this event! 100 Thousand Poets for Change! http://www.bigbridge.org/100thousandpoetsforchange/?p=1515 Los Angeles' response to 100TPC, will be held  September 24, 2011 from 11am - midnight  at the Wadsworth Theater in Los Angeles. You diggin' the poetry goodness? I dig! We are in need of organizational sponsorship! We are seeking sponsorship to help organize the Los Angeles initiative, taking residence at the Wadsworth Theater in Los Angeles. The nature of this event is so massive that it has gained the attention of Stanford University and the people's radio station, KPFK . Stanford will be archiving the event and KPFK will be promoting it.

Poetry by Jim Morrison

I wanted to share with you my favorite poem written by Jim Morrison. I love his poetry. Why do I drink? So that I can write poetry. Sometimes when it’s all spun out and all that is ugly recedes into a deep sleep There is an awakening and all that remains is true. As the body is ravaged the spirit grows stronger. Forgive me Father for I know what I do. I want to hear the last Poem of the last Poet. - Jim Morrison

Much Ado about Poetry

I just realized how busy a month August truly is! There are many poetry events that I am a part of, not to mention all the poetry events in LA that are just filling the calendar. Poetry is ALIVE in LA! Who says LA is not a mecca for literary genius...if anything, it inspires us from the turbulent realities we face each day. We write write write... So, to anyone that cares, I want to get all the messaging straight. Here's what's filling up my calendar these coming days: Poetrypalooza! I love the name of this event! I love that even get to be a part of it! Along with all the greatness that is Poetrypalooza (poetry taking over LA county), I will be conducting poetry workshops! I'll introduce you to the Humament, expand your Stream of Consciousness methods, and help your children create Acrostic poetry. Here is the complete schedule of events: http://poetrypalooza2011.weebly.com/tour-schedule.html I'm teaching: August 20, 21, 22, 27 100 Thousand Poets

In my dreams, I can hold your hand...

Saw Anthony J Greene in a dream...not sure what we did, but I know we were just together. Then morning came and he said I needed to go, but I didn't want to. He held my hand and said, "let's count to 15 together, when we get to 15, you need to wake up". We did, and I did. It was about an hour that had gone by since my alarm first went off...I sure didn't want to leave him. I can still feel his hand in mine, actually. It's a funny itch in the middle of my palm. That's the last thing we did together, in actual life, we held hands. Just been a hard morning. My cat has some mean intuition...or perception of human suffering. When I cried, she came to me, meowing with concern. Such a sweet animal. I am fortunate. Sometimes, I think he inhabits her...I know the Egyptians believed cats were the keepers, or guardians of the dead...              ... Just living in wonder...
