The mind, a dormant stone

This Friday, August 22nd, I'll be at the Santa Monica Youth Hostel to join Poet and Hostess, Peggy Dobreer at the the Rapp Sal(o)on for a wonderful night of literary entertainment! I am very excited to join in this show... lots of amazing Poets on the bill including Los Angeles' very own Suzanne Lummis and the beautiful Romanian Poet, Elena Secota ! Juan Cardenas , a renowned Flutist, will be joining me in this celebration -- offering musical accompaniment and lots of beautiful song and poetry! Tonight was inspirational because when I'm low, you make me high. It's energy, community, a soul unique in that we all share the same zing that executes us to deliver our words to new meanings. The meaning felt behind your eyes, his eyes, her eyes. Us. You deliver me to a plateau that is typically beyond my reaching. You turn the macabre into love, hope into a charity that builds and builds until we all walk together, crossing that "bridge". Tonight showed me how names are all known, and faces commonly seen, but experience is what is remembered. Back in September 2009 , I had the genuine and rare privileged to execute my erotic poetry in persona to the public at an erotic art festival called Art Undressed . It was a celebration of a new erotic anthology produced by Erotic Signature . The group, out of Florida, was conducting a tour across the United States, calling out for all erotic artists to join in the celebration. I gladly stepped up to that call, and joined in a wonderful celebration of raw art! In fact, I was the only Poet representing erotica, and I was so pleased to be given the creative freedom to showcase my work in the fashion I desired. Night 1: Burlesque adorned as Raw Bits flew from my lips to entice the audience around me. During this opening night, I had quite a variety of attentive listeners, and many dear friends supporting this feat. Night 2: The Dominatrix unleashed herself in a fragrant display of perversion, involving much audience participation along the way.  Language flee...

We are proud to feature two emerging poets and one of the great LA poets,  Brendan Constantine !   Jessica Ceballos   has been writing for over 20 years but has begun taking it seriously over the last two.
