In Loving Memory of Anthony St. Jude Greene

My best friend died Sunday, July 24, 2011. Best and oldest friend...a brother and someone connected to my soul throughout life. It's not entirely real to me...we'd always talk, plan trips to see each other. This is going to be hard. He struggled a lot throughout his life; his weight problem, respiratory issues, sensitivity in general as he got older and heavier. It's a damn shame. He was a very strong man. Very strong! He'd fight off death for years. :) He'd joke about it a lot...saying that death is gonna have to fight harder because he's not giving up. His heart gave out, his body had enough trauma. He just had to let go, we have to acknowledge that he lived hard, fought well, died nobly. We'd joke about our heritage...we had much of the same mix of mutt in us, which was quite unique. He was also the son of many many vikings! Norsemen were tough, full of valor and grit, arghhhhhhh! Those medieval times men had nothing on Anthony Greene. :) Noth...

My friend, Le Corbusier and NEWLY Published WORK!

I was ecstatic to hear this morning that my poem "Fantasy Parisian Natural Habitat" was published in Edgar Allan Poet.com! What wonderful news to wake to. I couldn't be more proud. To view the poem, click the link below: http://edgarallanpoet.com/Fantasy_Parisian.html This poem stemmed from my fascination of Le Corbusier's phenomenal house, the Villa Savoye . This beautiful home was constructed using Le Corbusier's 5 points of living -- essentially, these are the key elements to constructing a good house. He said that the "house was a machine for living".  The five points included: 1. No front fascade (meaning that all sides of the structure could be seen as "the front".) 2. Ribboned windows (to allow as much natural light into the home without compromise of privacy)  3. A  raised structure  (so that the actual living quarters was off of the ground) 4. A free plan (meaning that the interior should flo...

Scope

We are admist the pillars of history each of us -- planted here, firm intent words and ears. The meanings are pronounced clear, jotting of eyes upon each character bound and boundless. There is no genre to predict life -- just passions to be made clear with each passing step or thumb imprints on each page turned. -Jessica M. Wilson

Published in Calliope's Closet

I'm thrilled today! Really feeling good about myself and the work that I am doing. I enjoy helping other writers, and I am so excited when things I create works out. Writers' Row is a fantastic hub of writers that stemmed from my root-fascination from Riverside. The Mission Inn, Writers' Row. A place where authors such a Faulkner and Garland stayed. Now I've given the spirit to downtown LA and am able to transcend this historic spirit to another place thralled with history. It's very exciting for me. SoapBox Poets was a work in progress in my head for many moons; it just took the right partner to make this a reality! The idea was solid: go to the boardwalk, stand on a crate and recite poetry. People passing by were intrigued. They wanted to listen. Truth is, the boardwalk was a hard front for poetics, just hard on the voice, but the idea was very welcomed. So now SoapBox has an indoor home, and many come to join us each last Sunday of the month. I'm ver...
